Welcome to the Governors section of our school website.
The Governing Body of St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School is made up by a group of volunteers who are utterly committed to making a positive contribution to our Parish school.
Our team benefits from a diverse skillset and professional expertise, including business and project management, HR, sales and marketing, education, finance and healthcare.
We work very hard and put many an hour into the strategic role we play in leading the school and, by providing advice and support, act as "critical friends" to Mrs McNally who is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of St Gregory’s.
To be an effective governing body, regular visits to the school take place and each governor is assigned a particular area of responsibility for an area or subject, linking closely with different members of staff to monitor their areas of responsibility.
All of us take our Governor role very seriously and we have a Development plan in place, to ensure that, as a group, we are fully equipped to undertake governance duties effectively.
Ensuring that the golden thread of Catholicity runs through every aspect of school life is another one of our top priorities and our Parish Priest, Father Alex Austin, is a key member of the Governing Body.
We all share the same desires and aspirations : for St Gregory’s to be an exceptional school where confident and polite children thrive in a happy, safe and stimulating environment - taught by experienced, enthusiastic and challenging teachers, who are themselves motivated and professionally developed to their full potential.
Whilst being a Governor is often difficult and demanding, we are all very proud of what we do and thoroughly enjoy working with Mrs McNally and her team.
