Task 1: Times Tables
This week, I would like you to practise your times tables using multiplication wheels; helping you to build on our missing number problems. Mark with the answer sheet to spot any mistakes!
Task 2: Maths - Fractions
Our current unit in Maths is 'Fraction'. Use the sheet to practise your fluency, reasoning and problem solving. White Rose also release daily videos to support the learning task that will be extremely useful. Remember to keep your resilience and determination!
The answer sheet is attached in a PDF for you to mark with your parent. Like we do in school, it is always good to use some time after to have another go at something you may have found difficult and want to correct!
Task 1: Spelling
Following on from yesterday, complete the dictation to test if you can remember how to spell each homophone in a sentence. Ask an adult to read the sentences for you as you spell the missing homophone. Self mark your dictation.
Task 2: English (This week, to begin the Term, you will be completing a series of short booster tasks to recap your Grammar devices)
You will be practising parts of speech - identifying words that are nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. These are an excellent language devices to let you extend your sentences and add more detail. I have set an interactive activity on Purple Mash if you would like to have a go; followed by completing the worksheet.
Mark with the answers attached.
Topic Weekly Task: Meet the Egyptians
This term, we begin our final topic in Year 3 'The Ancient Egyptians'. I am so excited for you to explore and find out all about your ancestors and the incredible history that they have left for us today.
For your task today, I would like you to practice the skill of using a timeline (identifying dates in history and putting them into chronological order). Using the timeline cards, I would like you to order the cards chronologically. Using your own research or the booklet attached, I would like you find out a bit more about each key event in Ancient Egyptian history by adding an extra sentence or fact to each event. Can you find out something really exciting?
